Backup
Before performing any troubleshooting steps, ensure you back up your data to prevent accidental loss. Please refer to Chapter 5 for detailed instructions on how to locate and back up your files.
1. Issues with Opening/Closing DX Tools
If you’re having trouble opening or closing DX Tools, try the following:
1.1 Check for Single Instance
- Only one instance of DX Tools can run at a time.
- If the app appears unresponsive, check your system tray for the DX Tools icon:
- Windows: Bottom-right corner.
- macOS: Top-right corner.
1.2 Reopen the App
- Try reopening the app from the system tray (Windows) or dock (macOS).
- If the app still doesn’t open, follow these steps:
- Windows:
- Open Task Manager (Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc).
- Search for "DX Tools" in the list of processes.
- End the process and try reopening the app.
- macOS:
- Right-click the DX Tools icon in the dock.
- Select Force Quit, or use the keyboard shortcut Cmd+Option+Esc to bring up the Force Quit menu.
- Windows:
2. Restart Your Device
If DX Tools is still unresponsive, try restarting your device to clear any background processes and then attempt to run DX Tools again.
3. Reinstall DX Tools
Reinstalling DX Tools can often resolve persistent issues. To do so:
3.1 Uninstall DX Tools
- Windows:
- Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & Features.
- Locate DX Tools in the list and click on it.
- Click Uninstall and follow the prompts to remove it from your system.
- macOS:
- Open Finder and go to the Applications folder.
- Locate DX Tools, right-click, and select Move to Trash.
- Empty the Trash to complete the uninstallation.
3.2 Reinstall DX Tools
After uninstalling, download and install the latest version of DX Tools. Your environment database should remain intact.
4. Resolve Script Issues by Deleting the Scripts Folder
If you encounter issues related to scripts, deleting the local folder where they are stored may help. Follow these steps:
- Open DX Tools and locate the folder where scripts are saved.
- The path can be found in the DX Tools environment settings.
- Delete the folder containing the scripts.
- Restart DX Tools and re-fetch the scripts.
5. Delete the Database Folder
Starting from version 1.1.0, DX Tools stores its database locally. If the database becomes corrupted, it may cause the app to function improperly.
Warning: Deleting the Database
Deleting the database will remove all your set up environments. You will need to manually re-add everything after deletion.
5.1 Steps to Delete the Database Folder:
- Close DX Tools.
- Locate the database folder on your system:
- Windows:
C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\BizzStream Aero DX Tools\minimongo_bizzstream-dx-tools
- macOS:
/Users/<Username>/Library/Application Support/BizzStream Aero DX Tools/minimongo_bizzstream-dx-tools
- Linux:
/home/<Username>/.config/BizzStream Aero DX Tools/minimongo_bizzstream-dx-tools
- Windows:
